The Catalina bamboo cutting board is part of the California collection of bamboo
cutting boards from Totally Bamboo. There are two types of grain of bamboo usedin the Catalina bamboo cutting board: Vertical grain and flat grain. With Vertical
grain, approximately 1/4" wide is taken from the side of the split pole; flatgrain is approximate 5/8" wide and is from the face of the pole (a wider "board"
section). This version of the Catalina bamboo cutting board is vertical grain.Totally Bamboo's products are best for a variety of reasons. They only use premium
select grade 'Moso' bamboo which increases durability. Unlike some other companies,
